About Appraisals
Appraising art requires more than just an opinion—it demands expertise, training, and adherence to professional standards. Since personal property appraisers aren’t licensed, it’s important to work with someone who’s experienced and knowledgeable in both the material and the process. We handle a wide range of appraisal work and regularly collaborate with trusted specialists when a collection includes objects outside our area of focus. No matter the project, we encourage clients to seek professionals affiliated with leading organizations like the Appraisers Association of America or the American Society of Appraisers, which uphold the highest ethical and professional standards.

About Us
With over 35 years of experience, we bring deep expertise to every appraisal we undertake. Founder Stan Mabry has been appraising and dealing in American and European art since 1990, following early work at Sotheby’s New York.
Art historian Elsabeth Alicia Dikkes joined the practice in 2019, bringing advanced degrees from Leiden University and curatorial experience at institutions including the royal art collections of Denmark and the Netherlands. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Art History at Utrecht University.
Together, we’ve contributed to the field as educators, authors, and trusted professionals. Our appraisals adhere to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and meet the ethical and methodological guidelines of the Appraisers Association of America and the American Society of Appraisers.
Our work is recognized and accepted by the IRS, courts, insurers, museums, lenders, and government agencies. We’re honored to have worked with some of the country’s most distinguished collectors and institutions.
